Really good to see more Linux on phones and awesome you're sticking with it, it is my dream as well, sometime in the future! I have a OnePlus 6T where I once or twice a year try to see whether it could be a daily driver with PostmarketOS but so far I can't even make phone calls reliably, so I think it's gonna be a while before I'll be able to complete this type of challenge, haha! Some day...

Thanks for giving UT a real try.

It should be said in honesty, that North Amercian users can have another difficulty. Due to a difference in how NA mobile providers work, MMS may not work. And settings may need changing to get mobile internet working. EU users will have a better time due to standardization there.

But even with that, I still love Lomiri (the UI) to pieces. Esp the top panel. W/ practice, you can get to a setting so fast.

Tho, yes, change the back button.

Looks like Ubuntu Touch is pretty limiting. I am daily driving PureOS and use Mobian for testing, both with Phosh and it works pretty well. Not as well as a real desktop, but most apps from desktop just work. Sudo apt install, Flatpaks etc or using native Firefox/LibreWolf or the desktop file manager ... it just works. The best of all? They are no smartphones, but pocketcomputers (computers that can also do phone stuff). I also saw people using PostmarketOS, Fedora and KDE Plasma Mobile, sxmo and alike. Pocketcomputers are so cool, all the freedom of desktop Linux on your phone device.

Great video. Thx
I also tried out Ubuntu Touch on a 2 phone once, though just on the side. At the time, I was taking the train a lot and couldn't find a powerful app for train schedules. And you can forget about Waydroid on the GS 290—it's just not powerful enough for that.
